A Poem of Life

The moments that change a life rarely wait for us to be ready

A new calling.
A leap into the unknown.
A hand held for life.
A city not yet learned—

none of it begins with a plan.

The moment comes.
The blood brightens.
You set your teeth,
step through the door—

and the whole world turns.

Only the little things
ask to be considered forever:
what to eat,
what to buy,
where to spend an afternoon.

I carried those words for years
until living made them true.

So, friends—
do not linger at the threshold.

The things that change a life
rarely knock twice,
and never wait
for you to be ready.
